Who is responsible for your personal data?

What will we use your personal data for?

We will use the personal data we collect from you for the following purposes, which the service you request needs:

• To add you to the waitlist and tell you when the platform opens.
• To create and manage your account, and let you sign in with an email link, with Google or with LinkedIn.
• To review your founder profile and, once approved, show it to other founders on the platform.
• To suggest founders who are compatible with your profile.
• To handle the invitations you send and receive and, when both sides match, share your email and LinkedIn profile only with that person.
• To send you the service's emails: confirmations, notices about your profile, invitations, matches and reminders.
• To protect the platform: prevent abuse, moderate profiles and accounts, and handle security incidents.

Secondary purposes

In addition, we will use your information for the following secondary purpose, which the service you request does not need, but which helps us improve it:

• Usage analytics of the platform, to understand how Cofounders Hub is used and improve it.

We run this analysis from your first visit. You can turn it off at any time from "Analytics preferences", at the bottom of the page, or the "Preferences" section of the platform. Refusing the use of your personal data for this purpose will not be a reason for us to deny you the service.

What personal data will we use for these purposes?

To carry out the purposes described in this privacy notice, we will use the following personal data:

• Email, name, founder type (technical or business) and language.
• Your profile answers: full name, role, skills, country and city, availability to work remotely or relocate, your idea and interests, your background, an accomplishment, your free time, and what you look for in a cofounder.
• Your profile photo.
• The URL of your LinkedIn profile.
• The messages you write in your invitations.
• Cookies and analytics identifiers (see "Cookies").

Your connection's address (IP address) is only used to limit waitlist sign-ups; we do not store it. We do not process sensitive personal data.

Who processes your data on our behalf?

To provide the service, the following providers process your personal data on our behalf and following our instructions:

• Vercel: hosting of the site and of profile photos.
• Neon: the database.
• Resend: sending emails.
• Mixpanel: usage analytics, unless you turn it off.
• Google and LinkedIn: sign-in, only if you choose to use them.

Your data is stored on servers in the United States. We do not transfer your personal data to other third parties, except when the law requires it.

Cookies

Our site uses the following cookies:

• Session cookies, needed to sign in and stay signed in.
• A cookie that remembers your analytics choice for one year.
• Mixpanel's cookies for analytics, unless you turn it off.

You can turn the analytics cookies off at any time from "Analytics preferences", at the bottom of the page, or the "Preferences" section of the platform. You can also delete cookies from your browser's settings.

How can you access, rectify or cancel your personal data, or oppose its use?

You have the right to know what personal data we hold about you, what we use it for and the conditions of that use (Access). You also have the right to ask us to correct your personal information if it is out of date, inaccurate or incomplete (Rectification); to delete it from our records or databases when you consider that it is not being used properly (Cancellation); and to oppose the use of your personal data for specific purposes (Opposition). These are known as ARCO rights.

To exercise any ARCO right, send your request by email or by phone, using the details in "Contact details". About the procedure and requirements:

• You and, where applicable, your representative prove your identity, and the representative's authority, with an official ID.
• The request must contain all the data you want to know, change or delete, or the use you oppose.
• We will answer within 5 business days.
• We will send you the answer by email, which is also how we will deliver any personal data you request.

You can revoke your consent to the use of your personal data

You can revoke the consent you may have given us to process your personal data. However, please bear in mind that we may not be able to grant your request or stop the use immediately in every case, since a legal obligation may require us to keep processing your personal data. Also, for certain purposes, revoking your consent will mean that we can no longer provide the service you asked for, or the end of your relationship with us.
